If you like a really different eating experience, the floating restaurants in the Laem Hin area have all ingredients for your future album. This is a real treat. Park near the other seafood restaurant on the shore, and get taken across in a longtail boat (they seem to do this free for restaurant customers. But give like 100 ThB tip). The restaurant is floating on boards, with holes containing live fish and other seafood in nets. We hope we remember the correct name, because previous owner had the name Black Crab Restaurant.
The neighbour island is Bang MUD, and this one is a non-alcohol- and Halal- meat restaurant. |
The plan was to visit 9 temples, but 5 was the result, as we also went to our favourite culture park in Phang Nga. And, eating the local food in this area, shop secret chilipaste from local producers, took some time. |
Manik temple and the surrounding Manik area of Phuket is not on most visitors "must see" lists, but if you are passing this area near Cherng Talay, on the road between the Heroine's Monument and Surin Beach, you can find a very nice local temple and a very green and as yet relatively undeveloped area of Phuket. |
Pesto is a smaller reataurant that we have been to many times. Alone, with family, or with groups of visitors. Here is what someone is saying on Tripadvisor: "This place, whilst very modest and quaint at first appearance, delivers top notch Thai and Western food at VERY cheap prices. When we first walked in and saw locals, both Thai and ex-pats eating there, we knew we were onto a good thing."
More than a rotisserie, CUT is the encounter of farm products, carefully selected, and a chic beach club, with a wonderful lake view in Laguna area. We eat there sometimes, when we can afford a more expensive meal. |
At the local marked in Thalang you will find the seafood, vegetables, and herbs, to prepare your own thai style food. Or, you can visit the marked just to feel the atmosphere, and feel the tradition. |
This is the tryout at the new kitchen, when we invited the spa-staff to join us for party. Everybody were happy to join making food, thai-food as well as pizza. |
The roadtrip with 13 people included elephant tracking, and some amusements. Next step was the famous Monkey cave with the large Budda inside. The area is crowded with monkeys, you can buy bananas to feed them, to get the very good picture. Modelling for bananas. We can highly recommend the Monkeycave Cafe, on the road after leaveing the area. Good food, service and athmosphere. |
The island is located in the middle of the Andaman sea, and are in the middle of exotic islands, which you can experience from a longtail boat. Enjoy the day, do not hurry, you will loose some of the atmosphere. +66 (0) 76 454 232, +66 (0) 76 454 233 | http://kohyaochukit.com
The very famous Sarasin Bridge is the first bridge built that linked Phuket Island to the mainland of Phang Nga Province. Named after a Thai Chinese politician (the Sarasin family has been a wealthy clan involved in Thailand business and politics since the 19th century) this 700m bridge was built in 1967 to replace the ferry which was then the only connection to the mainland. + 420 224 267 579 | Website
We have returned two-three times to enjoy the atmosphere at this restaurant. Fresh seafood is surely best when you sit on the sea. The food, the service, the feeling you need to experience yourself, to know. |

Kathy is one of our recommended chefs, who has a local Thai restaurant in Bang Tao. Here you will taste traditional Thai dishes. At Kathy, you can also arrange Thaimat courses, either in the reataurant or at the villa. + 420 224 267 579 | Website
Phang-Nga's jungle-shrouded mountains are carved up by thick muddy rivers leading to aqua bays sprinkled with sheer limestone karsts and, below, some of Thailand's finest underwater treasures. We have made several trips to see the differences of this region. One option is the inland, jungle and rafting.
Khao Lak is surrounded by rice fields and rubber, palm and coconut plantations. The interior is covered in magnificent natural jungle and rises to meet high hills, cut by streams and cascading waterfalls such as Saeng Thong, Lam Roo and Chong Fa. Here you can try jungle trekking, rafting, jeep safaris and elephant trekking or simply cool off in the waterfalls' plunge pools. |
Perhaps the most local, lowprice, marked you find nearby Bang Jo. We recommend a visit to experience the atmosphere here. You get all of vegetables, seafood, meat, poultry, and food you do not understand. Food in all Asian variants. |
